چکیده
OBJECTIVE: Lateral epicondylitis is one of the widely seen lesions of the arm characterized by pain localized over lateral epicondyle which is the insertion site of the wrist extensors, and extensor muscles of the forearm. It is easy to diagnose lateral epicondylitis but treatment involves some inherent drawbacks. Conservative management includes non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, ultrasound therapy, steroid injections, functional bracing, laser therapy and extracorporeal shock wave therapy, however none of these modalities have been shown to be really effective based on evidence-based data. Our study is aimed to determine the efficacy of extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) therapy in the treatment of lateral epicondylitis. METHODS: A total of 12 patients with the diagnosis of lateral epicondylitis were included in the study and 3 sessions of ESWT were applied (1 session per week). Maximum grip strength and pain scores were assessed before and at 1. month after the treatment. Spesific tests for lateral epicondylitis were utilized and Turkish version of the Patient Rated Tennis Elbow Evaluation (PRTEE-T) questionnaire was administered and data obtained were

Lateral epicondylitis is a common disorder characterized by pain and tenderness over the lateral epicondyle. It occurs most frequently as a result of minor, unrecognized trauma during sports activities and occupation-related physical activities. The goal of this study was to evaluate the short-, medium-, and long-term effects of corticosteroid injection, autologous blood injection, and extracor...

Objective: to demonstrate the effectiveness of combination of radial extracorporeal shock wave therapy and muscle energy technique on pain, range of motion, and neck function of the individuals with active trigger points of upper trapezius muscle. Method: Fifty-four (54) participants with active TrPs of upper trapezius muscle were participated and randomly divided into three groups. Group A (...

BACKGROUND The use of extracorporeal shock wave therapy for the treatment of lateral epicondylitis is controversial. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the use of extracorporeal shock wave therapy without local anesthesia to treat chronic lateral epicondylitis. METHODS One hundred and fourteen patients with a minimum six-month history of lateral epicondylitis that was unresponsive to c...

Background and Aim: Medial Tibial Stress Syndrome (MTSS) is one of the most common sports-related overuse injuries among runners and military personnel. Extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) is an emerging treatment modality that used for individuals with MTSS. However, there was no found a systematic review that specifically assess the clinical and functional efficacy of ESWT in individuals...
